Single Type Approval certifies a vehicle meets all national regulatory standards for entry and registration in a European country, covering safety, emissions, and technical requirements.
All imported vehicles—new or used—require approval before registration in Europe. This includes passenger, commercial, and electric vehicles from non-EU manufacturers.
Approval usually takes 2–6 weeks after all documents are submitted. Timelines depend on country, vehicle type, and any extra technical checks needed.
You’ll need the technical file, emissions data, conformity certificates, and proof of origin. Additional documents may be needed based on country or vehicle type.
